Worker killed, struck by forklift
New Jersey, USA
A 61 year old worker was killed on Wednesday at a business in Winslow Township, north west of Atlantic City. The man sustained fatal injuries after being crushed under the tynes of a forklift that was carrying a large hopper filled with concrete. The man had allegedly walked into the path of the moving forklift and the operator was unable to see him. The man was declared dead at the scene.
Worker killed in fall
Adjara, Georgia
A 40 year old construction worker was killed on Tuesday at a civil construction site near Kobuleti in western Georgia after falling from a bridge that was under construction. The man fell more than 20m (65ft) from the bridge, striking the ground below. Investigators have confirmed that the man was wearing safety equipment and a harness at the time of the incident but have yet to speculate on the cause of the fall.
Worker crushed between two trucks
Christchurch, New Zealand
A truck driver in his 60s has died following an incident at a logistics facility in Christchurch on Wednesday. The man sustained significant injuries when he became trapped between his vehicle and another truck that was moving through the facility. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Farmer killed in quad bike incident
Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand
A 69 year old farmer has died following a quad bike rollover incident at a rural property near Waipawa on Tuesday evening. The man’s body was found after he failed to return from his day’s work. An investigation is currently underway to establish the cause of the incident.
1 killed and 2 injured in quarry cave in
Meru, Kenya
A rock collapse on Tuesday morning at a quarry in Meru, approximately 230km (140 miles) north east of Nairobi, has killed one worker and injured two others. The risk of rock collapses following heavy rains is a known risk with four workers killed at a nearby quarry in identical circumstances in October. The quarry is one of the largest in the area with more than 500 workers.
Communications worker killed in fall from tower
Las Palmas, Spain
A worker was killed on Wednesday after falling from a communications tower near the township of Tinajo in Las Palmas. The man was performing work on the tower when he fell more than 20m (65ft) to the ground below.
Worker dies in fall from crane
Barcelona, Spain
A 46 year old construction worker has died following a fall at a construction site in Caldes de Montbui, north of Barcelona, on Monday. The man was operating a crane at the site when he fell, sustaining fatal injuries.
